Growing Up

As with the daily ritual of eating to sustain one's existance and fulfill needs,  love itself becomes a habit and a chore, no longer providing the luster  or joy it once had.   
And thus did the withered leaves of love fall,  
gently descending to the dark abyss below; the pit they had always been destined for, and  
had never been far from.   
For woe  is the soul that realises the futility of his own existence,  
trapped in the cycle of hopelessness,  oblivion that cruel fate has dealt him.  
 
Oh, woe.

The vulnerable bones the remnants  Of once proudly shouldered plumage.  A haunting reminder  Of hierarchical positions   
Position but not power,  A celestial community,  United individuals  Stand together to rule them all.   
Amongst god-like figures  But now demoted  To cluttered collections  Of Fallen
